Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

These plans can pay a percentage of your income for the time you are unable to work because of illness or injury.

Short-Term Disability (STD)

  • STD coverage is provided to you at no cost.
  • If your disability requires additional time away from work, at no cost to you, this coverage
    • A cash benefit of 60% of your weekly salary (up to $1,250) when you are out of work for up to 13 weeks due to injury, illness, surgery, or recovery from childbirth.
    • Benefits begin after a 14-day waiting period for disability due to injury or sickness.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

  • LTD coverage is provided to you at no cost. If your disability requires additional time away from work, at no cost to you, this coverage:
    • A cash benefit of 60% of your monthly salary (up to $20,000) starting after the end of your short-term disability or a period of 90 days of disability, whichever is greater, and continues up to the maximum benefit period, Social Security Normal Retirement Age.
    • The guaranteed issue amount is $10,000.
    • Benefits begin after a 90-day waiting period for disability due to accident or illness.
    • Includes pre-existing condition exclusions for disabilities beginning within 12 months of coverage effective date.
